You should know 15 specific data before you ordering the control valves

When ordering, please specify:


1. Nominal size × Port size9. Special requirement of decreasing, copper free treatment, and etc.
2. Type and rating of end connections10. Name of flow medium
3. Body and trim material, necessity of hardening11. Normal flow and maximum required flow
4. Type of bonnet12. Pressure of flow medium, upstream and downstream
5. Valve and plug characteristics13. Pressure at maximum and minimum, required flow
6. Type of actuator, air pressure to diaphragm14. Temperature and specific gravity of flow medium
7. Valve action (direct or reverse)15. Viscosity of flow medium, inclusive or exclusive of slurry
8. Accessories (positioner, hand wheel, pressure regulator with filter and etc.)



THE PROCESS OF SELECTION CONTROL VALVE


DETERMINE SERVICE CONDITIONS
(P1, ΔP, Q, T1, Fluid Properties, Allowable Noise, etc).
Select appropriate ANSI Pressure Class required for valve body and trim.

CALCULATE PRELIMINARY Cv REQUIRED

Check noise and cavitation levels

  ▼

SELECT TRIM TYPE

If no noise or cavitation indication, choose standard trim. 

If aerodynamic noise is high or liquid noise is cavitation is indicated, choose specific trim.

 SELECT VALVE BODY AND TRIM SIZE

Select valve body and trim size with required Cv. 

Note travel, trim group, and shut off options.

SELECT TRIM MATERIALS

          Select trim materials for your application; make sure trim selected is available in the trim group for the valve size selected.

   ▼

      OPTIONS

 Consider options on shutoff, stem packing, Etc.
